Hi, Thanks so much for your comment, and welcome to the sourdough world! You’re absolutely right that weight measurements are more precise, especially for bread baking. In fact, I use grams for all my sourdough bread recipes for that exact reason. For my simpler discard recipes, I’ve stuck with cups because I’ve found that many beginners already feel overwhelmed by new terminology, techniques, and equipment. I’ve learned over time that easing people in helps them actually get baking, which is the goal! That said, I totally understand the desire for metric and am in the process of adding weight conversions to more of my recipes on my new site Sourdough Surprises, which is dedicated to all sourdough recipes. It’s a slow process because I want to make sure each one is tested and works just as well as the original, and running two websites with kids at home is definitely a process in patience. Thanks again for the feedback, Jenni

The certainty of weights is much more reassuring fore as a beginner, knowing that cup measurements are highly inaccurate. If you could make a conversion table available, against which we can check any of your recipes, it would be awesome. I am a new hand at sour dough and would love to use your recipes. I’ll cgeck sporadically whetger metric weight measures have been added. For now, I will keep searching for more beginner friendly measurements

You are welcome! That is why I try to make sure all my beginning and easy sourdough recipes are in cups, so that you can feel like you can do it! I promise weighing ingredients isn’t hard, but it feels like it, doesn’t it?! So glad you enjoyed the naan! I have a bunch of easy bread recipes on this site, too! Let me know how I can help!

In reply to Jenni.

Just getting into baking and even though I know it’s better anything with weighing makes me assume it’s for professional bakers and not just lil ol’ me messing around in the kitchen. Thanks for the delicious naan recipe while I work up the nerve to actually use my starter to make sourdough bread !

Measures my liquids with cups. And the. Flour with a weighing scale. 2cups of flour equal to 240gm.
The dough is very sticky but i manage to roll them flat with quite a bit of flour.
Used 1/2tsp of salt in it, brush them with fried garlic and chives infused butter. Yum!
