Hi Tangee! I am so sorry you were disappointed with these and that they were flat for you! That is always frustrating when a recipe doesn’t work right! I did test these several times and never had an issue with them being too flat. Maybe try again with a new container of baking soda? Baking soda can loose is effectiveness as a leavening agent after 6 months. Another possible reason is if you made your butter room temperature in the microwave to speed up time – this often causes pockets to melt, and with the variable amounts of water in butter brands, sometimes this can cause cookies to fail, too.

I was really excited about making these. They came out so very flat, very disappointed. I always read through recipes a couple times and get all of the ingredients together. My eggs and butter were at room temperature. Again I was disappointed.

Made these cookies today and wow! They’re amazing. Fluffy and slightly chewy inside with just the perfect touch of crispy outside. I used salted butter and decreased the salt to 3/4 tsp. Yummo!
