Hi Helen! You will add about 1/4 cup of rice vinegar to the rice after it has cooked. If your family hasn’t had sushi rice with vinegar in it before, I suggest starting with half of that and then working your way up to the full amount. You can always leave it out, too!

We’d add yellow radish pickles (basically the Japanese version of bread and butter pickles) and for protein, we add thinly sliced omelet. I’m not sure if it’s just my kid or the other kids I know, but most of them do like raw salmon. We had a sushi party with kids a couple years ago and one of my friends’ 7 year old ate up most of the raw salmon before anyone else could get to it.

What a fantastic idea to teach kids about different cuisines in such a fun and enticing way! These little sushi rolls are just too cute. I don’t have kids and I want to make them for myself! 🙂

My kids are HUGE sushi fans, and we might just have to make some ourselves this week considering its 100+ all week and we will be housebound in the evenings, and thus in need of some distractions. We will need to add the raw fish though, my kids are weird and love it 🙂
